Procurement negotiated rates in one system and operations quoted from another. Every discrepancy became a conversation, usually after the invoice had already gone out.
What we implemented
Contracts are now read and structured on arrival, with local charges captured alongside base freight. Quotes draw from the same record procurement maintains, so what's sold reflects what was bought.
Results
Contract entry time dropped by around forty percent, and quote corrections fell by a quarter. Margin is reviewed weekly with numbers both teams trust.
