Contract Reader
Stop typing carrier contracts into spreadsheets
Upload the PDF or Excel file you were sent. Contract Reader pulls out the lanes, charges, surcharges and validity dates, and tells you which fields it wasn't sure about.
Nobody joined a freight company to re-key surcharge tables. Yet in most pricing teams that's where a large part of the week goes, and it's also where the costliest small mistakes happen. Contract Reader handles the transcription and leaves the judgement to you.
How it works
Four steps, no data entry
1. Upload
Drop in the contract exactly as the carrier sent it — no reformatting first.
2. Extract
Lanes, equipment, base rates, surcharges and validity windows are identified and structured.
3. Review flags
Anything ambiguous is highlighted for a quick human confirmation instead of silently guessed.
4. Publish
Approved rates land in your repository and become instantly quotable.
Where it shines
What it handles well
- Multi-page ocean contracts with appendix surcharge tables
- Amendments that only change a handful of lanes
- Scanned documents and image-based PDFs
- Carrier-specific charge naming, mapped to your own conventions
- Validity overlaps between old and new agreements
- Bulk uploads at the start of contract season
Honest limits
Where we still ask a human to look
Unusual commercial conditions, tiered volume commitments and anything written as prose rather than a table get flagged rather than assumed. We'd rather ask than be confidently wrong.
Extraction accuracy improves as the system sees more of your carriers' formats, because your corrections teach it your conventions.
Most teams are processing live contracts within the first week of onboarding.
Send us a contract and see what comes back
Bring one of your trickier carrier agreements to the demo. We'll run it through live, flags and all.
